Our Thoughts
To get straight to the point, The LEGO titanic is without a doubt, one of the greatest LEGO sets to date. The sheer size of the build really captures the original design of the ship. At a scale of 1:200, the size of the ship allow for the ship to contain small, yet intricate features such as the boiler room, cabins, and even the staircases, which further prove how rewarding the ship feels to display. This set is definitely worth the purchase. Whilst display may be difficult, the set actually breaks into 3 segments, allowing you to adjust pieces to your liking, and fitting.
Contents
Piece Count and Price: The set compromises of 9,090 pieces at $679.99. Which offers a 13 piece on the dollar ratio, which whilst having a steep price, the ratio gives good return, as well as the ship consisting of larger LEGO elements. This isnt to mention it is one of the largest LEGO sets ever made, considering it is cheaper than some other UCS sets.
Figures: The LEGO Titanic does miss an opportunity to include characters that were from the Titanic film, however, choosing to not implament figures might have been a design choice as they wanted all focus on the ship, whilst keeping it true to real events.
Build Process: The Titanic is split into 3 different boxes, all consisting of The Bow, The Midsection, and The Stern. The build process takes an average of 20 hours to complete if you are an experienced builder, but can surely be worth the time and patience required to build. If the 20 hours do seem excessive, there are many elements hidden within the ship to encourage you to build more, with the 3 split boxes to encourage breaks.
Additional Contents: The LEGO Titanic includes other small, yet fun features such as country flags (probably to represent the designers cultures), Adjustable propellers and an adjustable anchor. Elegant "Wood" stands, which support the titanic from tipping over, and of course, the exterior work of the ship, which includes benches, lifeboats, and cranes. Finally, the set comes with a constructable sign saying the word "TITANIC", which is partially the designers ways to substitute for minifigures
As a final thought, Whilst the lego titanic may have issues such as pricing, time to construct, and its size being a hassle to display, These issues, besides price, do not compare to the pros of the titanic. If you want an amazing display set, that has almost every feature possible in a LEGO set, this is a set to yearn for.

I would recommend this to a friend!
I'm a huge fan of the Titanic, it's story and the history behind her. Once I saw this Lego set, I had to have it. Having received it, I couldn't wait to start constructing it. From start to finish, it took me 6 days at about 3-4 hours a night. Build was very straightforward and very unique in a few ways. The finished product is truly amazing. There are some details that don't line up exactly with the actual ship, but to do what Lego has done here, I have nothing but respect. This is amazing to display and when I look at it I feel extremely proud of it. Thank you for allowing me to have the opportunity to build such a wonderful set to represent such a beautiful historical time piece. I love it!
